Cumbria Rugby Union

On Sunday Keswick RUFC hosted the 1st girls festival of the season. Around 150 players from 8 clubs aged U13, U15 and U18 all got together to play the matches in the 1st of 4 planned events in Cumbria. The event was ran by Keswick rugby clubs girls section and supported by one of the counties new Young Match Officials.

• The U18's played a 15 a side game with players from 7 different clubs joined together to ensure rugby was played.
• The U15's also managed a 15 a side game with all 8 clubs represented within this game.
• The U13's section managed to create 5 teams made up from 7 clubs playing 10 a side rugby. 1 of Cumbria’s Young Match Officials was available to support the event.

The upcoming events up until Christmas in Cumbria are:

• Netherhall RUFC – 27th October
• Kendal RUFC – 10th November
• Penrith RUFC – 24th November

Thanks to Keswick RFC for hosting such an excellent event and showing the power of festivals ran in this manner. Hopefully the remaining festivals will be well supported and lead into County Representation for some of the girls into the New Year.
